School ASSESSMENTS
Climate surveys and needs assessments are a way to gain student and staff perspective on school climate. This needs assessment was created in collaboration with Peers Educating Peers in Siler City, or PEPSC, a student run organization at Jordan Matthews that aims to increase student wellness. Outcomes for this assessment are outlined in the accountability tab.
USE-OF-TIME ASSESSMENTS
An essential part of management in school counseling is use-of-time assessments. These are samples of my time tracker templates. I fill out the above table with my coded activity per half hour. At the completion of the week, I fill out a weekly hours summary to demonstrate my time spent in direct and indirect services and field or university supervision.

This is an example of the tracking tool I use for individual counseling meetings. To keep student information confidential while also keeping rapport, I code the subject into college, career, social/emotional, and attendance, as well as keep notes very brief.
Proposals & ACTION PLANS
Proposals provide a rationale for an intervention, as well as a conceptual framework that includes multicultural considerations and theoretical orientation. Action plans provide a big picture of an intervention before it is given. It helps school counselors to best prepare for effective interventions, as we must have a plan of what materials we need, how we will collect data, and a timeline of when we will give each lesson. Below are two examples of action plans I have made, one for a girls group and one for a core curriculum lesson.
SMALL GROUP ACTION PLAN
This group was created for freshmen girls as a tier two intervention. The lessons focus on social skills and mental health. Results can be found in the accountability tab.
CORE CURRICULUM ACTION PLAN
This is the action plan for a core curriculum lesson on Self-Advocacy given to a 9th grade classroom. Results can be found in the accountability section.
